Here’s all you need to know about the declaration of results:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results on its official website at 10:45am on Friday, June 23.

“Result of NEET (UG) - 2017 has been declared as per the directives of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Good Wishes to all candidates from CBSE,” a declaration on the official website said.

The CBSE, earlier this month, displayed the images of OMR answer sheets and aspirants' responses to the questions on its website, www.cbseneet.nic.in, for challenge by students only for two days, instead of three as mentioned in the information bulletin. The answer keys were displayed on June 15.

* In a relief for thousands of students, the Supreme Court last month allowed the CBSE to declare the NEET results. The SC ordered a stay on the Madras High Court’s order, which had halted results, and said that the HC shouldn’t tinker with medical admission schedule.

* The NEET examination for admission to MBBS and BDS (dental) courses was held on May 7. Around 10.5 lakh students appeared for the exam in either Hindi or English, while around 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh students appeared in eight vernacular languages.

* On May 24, the Madras High Court granted interim stay on the publication of NEET results on a batch of pleas alleging that a uniform question paper was not given in the examination and there was a vast difference between the ones in English and in Tamil.

* The petitioners before the HC demanded that the NEET 2017 be cancelled and a fresh exam with a uniform question paper be conducted.

* The HC had also directed the Medical Council of India, the director of CBSE and the Union Health Ministry to file counter affidavits on these pleas pending before it.

* The CBSE on June 9 approached the Supreme Court against the HC ruling, saying that because of the HC order, the entire schedule of counselling and subsequent admission for medical courses through NEET has gone "haywire".

* Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Maninder Singh, appearing for the CBSE, had told the Supreme Court that challenge to the different sets of questions in vernacular languages were on wrong assumptions that they were difficult as the experts had examined that they were different from those in English or Hindi medium but the level of difficulty cannot be said to be different.

Singh said that questions were different to keep the larger interest protected on the ground that if there was a leakage of a set of paper in a vernacular language, the majority of students would be protected as candidates appearing in any particular language were less than those opting for English or Hindi.

* Singh also contended that a number of pleas had been filed in various high courts in NEET-related matters and the high courts had entertained these petitions despite the apex court's order that no other court shall hear such matters.

NEET 2017: No results today, official notification to be up soon

The NEET 2017 is unlikely to be declared today too. The board says that it would put out an official notification on the date 24 hours prior to the results being declared. The results would however be declared before June 26. Board officials said that a notification would be issued on the official website a day in advance before the results are declared. As per its own submission before the Supreme Court, the board would have to declare the results before June 26.

The delay has been attributed to the bonus marks for ambiguous questions. The board had caused a great deal of confusion when it announced that the results would be declared on Tuesday. It was the CBSE which caused the confusion when put out an alert on Tuesday stating that the results would be declared. The notification was withdrawn by evening which led to a great deal of confusion.

An official notification stating that the results would be declared on Tuesday was withdrawn from the official website. While board officials have not confirmed any date, there is a likelihood that the results may be declared today or tomorrow. However it would not be delayed beyond June 26 as the board has assured the Supreme Court of the same. Some officials indicate that they had tried to declare the results on Tuesday itself.

However there is some discussion on the 8 bonus marks to be awarded for ambiguous questions. Experts are of the view that the extra 8 marks for ambiguous questions should be given. This could be the reason behind the delay. They pointed towards the ambiguity of the questions and that the answers could not be calculated correctly by the students as the questions did not clearly provide the requisite information.

Students and parents had also raised this issue before various High Courts where they had filed petitions. The result process was set in motion by the CBSE after it was permitted to declare the results by the Supreme Court last week.

The CBSE had said recently that it would need two weeks to declare the results. The OMR challenge and the answer keys were made available on the board's website last week.

Latest news NEET OMR and Official Answer key on 13th june

The CBSE will declare by June 26 the result of an exam for admission to the country’s medical and dental colleges after getting the go-ahead from the Supreme Court on Monday, bringing relief to more than a million students.

The Supreme Court stayed a Madras high court order that restrained the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from declaring the result of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2017.
“After the court’s go-ahead we have started the process of preparing the result... We will declare the results within two weeks,” a CBSE official told HT.

NEET 2017 results: June 20 is tentative date

The NEET 2017 results are likely to be declared on June 20. This is a tentative date, assuming the Madras and Gujarat High Courts will pass an order allowing the CBSE to declare the result without cancelling the exam.

The results will however not be declared before June 13. The Gujarat High Court which adjourned the matter is likely to deliver its final verdict only on June 13.

The Gujarat High Court stated that since the Madurai branch of Madras High Court has already stayed the declaration of the results till June 12, it would not pass any order before that. It is expected that the verdicts from the Madras and Gujarat HC would come out only on June 12 and 13 respectively.

It may be recalled that the Gujarat HC had taken the CBSE to task. The CBSE said in its submission that it had set different question papers to avoid it from getting leaked. Justice S G Shah was however not impressed by the argument and rapped the board. If the officer says that there is a chance of leakage in vernacular language, I am not going to pardon him, Justice Shah said.

On Monday the Gujarat High Court permitted a group of students who appeared for the NEET 2017 in English medium to join as respondents. A petition seeking to hold afresh the entrance test with a uniform set of set of questions for Gujarati and English medium students is being heard by the court. Justice S G Shah will hear the matter today after the CBSE which conducted the test sought time to file its reply.

Students who had appeared for the NEET 2017 in English medium filed an application to join as respondents, which was allowed by the court. They contended that any decision to cancel the test will have an adverse effect on them and hence they should also be heard by the court.

Those who took the examination in Gujarati sought a direction from the High Court to scrap the test that was held on May 7. They wanted the test to be held afresh with the same set of questions for both Gujarati and English languages. OneIndia News

NEET 2017 results not this week also as fresh petition is filed in Madras HC

The NEET 2017 results are unlikely to be declared this week also. A fresh petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking to cancel NEEW which was held for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2017-18.

Earlier it was said that the CBSE NEET results would be declared this week. However the Madras HC is hearing a case on June 7 after it granted an interim stay on the declaration of results. Hence it is unlikely that the results would be declared on June 8 as well.

In the new petition before the HC, Gladwin J has prayed for admitting students to MBBS and BDS courses based on Plus Two marks. The case will be heard this week. Last week the Madurai Bench of the Madras HC had granted an interim stay on the release of NEET UG examination results. The results were scheduled to be declared on June 8.
Justice M V Muralidharan had also directed officials of the Medical Council of India, the CBSE Director and the Union health department to file their counter affidavits on June 7.
NEET was held on May 7 amidst controversies including question papers in various languages, including Hindi, English and Tamil, were not same and not of same difficulty level.
